LifetecZONe is the networking organisation for the Human Health Sector in South Netherlands. LifetecZONe is founded by intermediairy organisations BOM, LIOF and Syntens and is actively run by and for entrepreneurs.

This facility sharing project will give SMEs access to a far wider range of research and development facilities by including the human health clusters in South East England, the Øresund Region, Stuttgart, Liege, and of course our LifetecZONe area in the Netherlands.

FABPulous is developing a disposable device that allows for rapid semi-quantitative diagnostic testing in blood or plasma. As a first application FABPulous will develop a rapid test to aid in the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction, based on an early biomarker, heart-type fatty acid binding protein (H-FABP). This test will be able to demonstrate, within 2-3 minutes after drawing a drop of blood by means of a finger prick, whether or not H-FABP is elevated, which is indicative of an acute myocardial infarction

   New brochure "The Cardiovascular Center Maastricht” launched: - 24-07-08
This brochure was made possible through a joint effort between The Cardiovascular Center azM and CARIM. Our aim is to work closely together in Maastricht in order to integrate patient care and research in the area of Heart and Vascular Disease. The underlying mission and the central themes, through which this integration will be achieved in the near future, are described and illustrated in this brochure.

Lopen ziekenhuizen die tegemoetkomingen aan de leden van de Raad van
Toezicht (RvT) betalen het risico dat zij de rangschikking van algemeen
nut beogende instelling (anbi) mislopen? Het lijkt erop dat dit niet het
geval is. In ieder geval geldt dit voor academische ziekenhuizen (UMC’s).
Of dit voor perifere ziekenhuizen en andere zorginstellingen ook geldt,
is vooralsnog niet duidelijk.
