Life Sciences Limburg, BioLiège and LifeTecAachen-Jülich organise Biomedica 2007, March 21-22, Aachen
Life Sciences are booming in the Meuse Rhine Triangle area of Aachen, Liège, and Maastricht and the neighbouring regions in NRW (Köln, Bonn), Belgium (Leuven, Hasselt) and The Netherlands (Eindhoven). More than 300 life sciences companies, private and public research institutes, universities and academic hospitals develop many different interacting technologies, finding application into a wide range of products.
This Meuse Rhine Triangle is the beating heart of life sciences in Europe. Dr. Fred Bollen, chair of the organising committee and Life Sciences Limburg, explains: “In order to highlight the areas of competence within this region, the life sciences organisations BioLiège, Life Sciences Limburg and LifeTecAachen-Jülich will jointly organise the annual international conference and exhibition Biomedica. Thus Biomedica will focus on competences such as biomaterials, molecular medicine and imaging, industrial biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, food and green biotechnology”.
“Biomedica is an excellent opportunity for experts in research, business & product development and marketing from outside the region to meet with representatives from companies and R&D institutes from inside Meuse Rhine Triangle; thus providing a platform for exchange of knowledge and experience”, continues Prof. Dr. Christian Grandfils, Vice chair of BioLiège.
For the first time Biomedica will take place on the 21st and 22nd March 2007 in the Eurogress, Aachen, Germany. Over 600 international guests, many exhibitors and more than 40 speakers are expected.
“Biomedica is built on the success of earlier conferences such as "Bioforum", "Cells at Work" and "LifeTecXchange" and combines these into one annual event being held in Aachen in 2007, followed by Maastricht in 2008 and Liège in 2009” states Dr. Rob Gossink, chair of LifeTecAachen-Jülich. *)
