2nd Innovation Performance Project for LifetecZONe?
Now that our 1st "Innovation Performance Contract" project is running and the 26 participating companies have submitted innovation plans with a total value of approx. 4 million Euro, we are looking at the possibility of starting a second IPC project! For this new project we are thinking of our new members and especially the Brabant companies that were not yet contacted for the 1st IPC. If you are interested in submitting your innovation plan in this very flexible project contact us or Nick Sassen at score@xwxs.nl! Most Entrepreneurial Scientist of the Netherlands 2008
On December 3, during “de Innovatieproeftuin 2028: 'Boven het maaiveld'”, The Most Entrepreneurial Scientist of the Netherlands was chosen from a select group of entrepreneurial scientist. For this competition, organised by Science Alliance and VSNU, the Dutch Universities and knowledge institutions were asked to nominate their most successful entrepreneurial scientists of the last 3 years. Among these was our board member: prof. Paul Borm, Lector Life Sciences, Hoge School Zuyd, and initiator of Magnamedics., a start-up company in nanotechnology.

PharmaCell to build second facility in Sofia
Sofia-based Tokuda Hospital and Maastricht-based PharmaCell today have signed an agreement to establish a joint-venture to build and operate a GMP facility in Sofia, Bulgaria. The company will focus on human cell & tissue culturing for the Eastern European Market.

Bioinformatics Event
The relevance of human genomics and bioinformatics for health sciences and economical development of the BeNeLux and Euregio As a prelude to the annual Benelux Bioinformatics Conference which will be held in Maastricht on December 15 and 16, the Department of Bioinformatics from Maastricht University will organize an open genomics and bioinformatics event in the Bonnefanten Museum on December 14.
