During the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of Interface, the organization for business development and knowledge enhancement of the University of Liège, Fred Bollen from LifetecVision received an award on Tuesday, November 23 at Château Colonster in Liège
During this event the 20 years history,  the milestones and achievements of Interface were presented to more than 300 people from Wallonia and esp. Liège.
People who made a significant contribution to the success of Interface received an award, an 'oeuf de cristal " bearing the new logo of Interface.

The crystal egg symbolizes the new identity of Interface. These are the focus areas of Interface as persistence (remember the egg of Columbus), innovativeness, and the development of new  technology.
Each “oeuf de cristal” bears the new logo of Interface, engraved on it with a new laser technique, which is developed by the company Lasea of Liège.
Special therefore are also the people who receive this crystal egg.
As the only non resident of Belgium Dr. Fred Bollen received this award for his contribution to the Euro-regional projects in the region of Liège, Aachen and Maastricht.
Furthermore, Fred Bollen was honored for his efforts to encourage cross border cooperation between industry and universities in the Euregio.  One example is  the creation of the Foundation Biomedica that now organises for the fourth time the International Biomedica Summit.

Fred Bollen as chairman of the foundation is now succeeded by Prof. Dr. Bernard Rentier, rector of the University of Liège.

All awarded the "Oeuf de Cristal" by Interface, among them, dr. Fred Bollen
