Looking for a technology or development partner?
This August, Life Sciences Limburg will start the service of offering the posting of your matchmaking request in our Matchmaking Zone and in our e-newsletter. Requests and offerings concerning a technology, product, development partner, grant application et cetera are all eligible for publication online.

Siemens Medical Solutions is looking for Dutch suppliers
On November 29, Siemens AG Medical Solutions organizes the MedTechDay Germany. Interested Dutch suppliers will be offered a one-on-one matchmaking session with Siemens’ buyers. In addition, workshops concerning opportunities in the German market will be given by "Gateway to Germany". The event is hosted by "Gateway to Germany", is held in Utrecht and the registration fee is Euro 195 (excl VAT). More information can be found in the announcement |

Eureka; Up to Euro 15.000 for innovation in Northern Limburg
NV Regio Venlo aims to stimulate innovation in Northern Limburg and is now running the competition "Eureka 2007". Companies with innovative ideas for product development in the logistics, industrial (including MedTech) or agro-food sector can compete for an external advice subsidy of up to Euro 15.000. With this, a company can fund external support such as business plan development, patenting, feasibility and market studies. The submission deadline is October 12. Vouchers for start up companies
New start-up companies in Limburg can increase their chance of a successful start by cashing in a € 1000,- voucher for guidance and expertise of long-term entrepeneurs. This voucher is provided by the Province of Limburg and can be used for complex issues like growth, working in clusters, export possibilities and new product and market combinations. Life Sciences Limburg, and it's sister organisations, BioLiège and LifeTecAachen-Jülich have accepted the challenge to create a bigger, more international Biomedica2008! The program for April 16 and 17 will now also include matchmaking sessions. Members of Life Sciences Limburg will again recieve a 20% discount on existing exhibitor packages, and we will present our members the opportunity to participate in the LSL booth with a special offer. Minisymposium "Fitness for Brains"

On August 31 The BioMetrisch Center in Gulpen, Maastricht Instruments, AIM in Brunssum and Limburg Development Company LIOF organized a mini-symposium called ‘Fitness For Brains’, The background to this is the successful cooperation between these Limburg companies who are together linking innovations in medical measurements and treatments, with innovations in measuring technology and equipment. This has already led to a number of new developments including progress with issues such as ADHD, chronic fatigue, migraine, depression, stress and CVA, which have been treated successfully. Limburg welcomes Newtricious
The company Newtricious was founded by Jos Nelissen in June 2007. The company, a spin-off from Globus Ei Holding BV, develops ingredients and products for nutritional use that contributes to human well-being. All will be executed in collaboration with academic and industrial partners.
The company's working area stretches out from research to consumer. Newtricious plays an active role in uniting consortia, who together are capable of developing new products or ingredients that can be successfully introduced on the consumer market.

New Dutch fund, Aescap Venture, raises €100M
Aescap Venture will invest in private European biomedical companies that focus on the treatment of human diseases. Aescap aims to build a balanced investment portfolio consisting of 15 to 20 companies. Companies will be judged by: its founder and key personnel, time-to-market, uniqueness/patents, and envisaged exit opportunity.
Aescap invests in companies active in the most promising segments in the biomedical industry. Companies using technologies that are sufficiently mature to yield realistic product-opportunities as well as cash flow from licensing deals.
